Welcome to Set Point Health
A Quick Guide to How Care Works
This is a simple overview of what to expect when working with Set Point Health. Full policies and consent forms will be reviewed before your first appointment.
What We Do
Set Point Health provides outpatient psychiatric care for adolescents and young adults.
This may include:
• Evaluation and diagnosis
• Medication management
• Supportive therapy
• Coordination with schools or other providers (with permission)
•
Care is individualized and collaborative.
How Communication Works
• Secure messaging (Spruce) is the main way to communicate
• Messages are for non-urgent concerns only
• Responses are typically within 1–2 business days
• Messages are not monitored nights, weekends, or holidays
Messaging is not a substitute for appointments.
Appointments & Scheduling
• Appointments are scheduled based on clinical need
• A deposit may be required to book
• Intake paperwork must be completed before your first visit
Cancellations & Attendance
• At least 48 hours’ notice is required to cancel or reschedule
• Late cancellations or missed appointments may result in loss of deposit
• Repeated missed appointments may affect your ability to continue care
Payment
• Set Point Health is a self-pay practice
• Payment is due at the time of service
• A superbill can be provided for possible insurance reimbursement
Medications & Safety
If medications are prescribed:
• Take them exactly as directed
• Do not make changes without guidance
• Attend follow-up appointments
Some medications require closer monitoring and additional policies.
Respect & Boundaries
We aim to create a safe and respectful environment.
Patients and families are expected to:
• Communicate respectfully
• Follow practice policies
• Participate in care
For Parents & Guardians
• A parent/guardian must consent to treatment for minors
• Some information may remain private to support trust
• Safety concerns will always be shared when necessary
Important to Know
• This is not a crisis or emergency service
• There is no 24/7 availability
If urgent help is needed:
• Call 911
• Go to the nearest emergency room
• Call or text 988
Our Approach
Set Point Health maintains a limited caseload to provide thoughtful, individualized care.
If you have questions, feel free to ask. We’re glad you’re here.
Provider Availability
Set Point Health is an independent private practice operated by a single provider.
Appointments are available during scheduled office hours by appointment only.
Messages and administrative requests are typically reviewed during business hours.
Response Times
Routine questions, medication refill requests, and scheduling inquiries submitted through the patient portal or secure messaging are typically answered within 1–5 business days.
Patients should allow adequate time for responses and medication refill requests.
Medication Refill Planning
Patients are responsible for planning ahead to ensure continuity of medication treatment.
Refill requests should be submitted at least 5 business days in advance.
Patients should ensure they have adequate medication supply prior to weekends, holidays, or provider absences.
Refills may not be processed if requests are submitted without sufficient notice.
After-Hours Communication
Set Point Health does not provide after-hours clinical coverage.
Messages sent outside of business hours will be reviewed during the next business day.
The patient portal and secure messaging systems should not be used for urgent medical concerns.
Emergencies and Urgent Concerns
Set Point Health is not an emergency or crisis service.
If you or your child experience any urgent mental health concerns, including thoughts of self-harm, suicidal thoughts, or severe psychiatric symptoms, you should immediately seek emergency assistance.
You may contact:
• 911
• your nearest emergency department
• 988 Suicide & Crisis Lifeline
Provider Absences
Because Set Point Health is operated by a single provider, there may be times when the provider is unavailable due to vacation, illness, or personal leave.
Set Point Health does not currently have covering providers during these periods.
Patients should plan medication refills and follow-up appointments accordingly.
Emergency services should be used if urgent concerns arise during these times.
Continuity of Care
Patients are encouraged to maintain regular follow-up appointments as recommended to ensure safe medication management and ongoing treatment.
Failure to attend recommended follow-up appointments may result in delays in care or medication refills.
