What to Expect
As a solo practitioner, I focus on quality over quantity, offering a warm and private environment where your story is heard and your care is never rushed.
My Practice Style
Working exclusively as a private pay provider allows me to maintain a direct, personalized connection with every family without outside interference.
Common Questions & Concerns
Will my child be put on medication right away?
No. Medication is never the starting point by default. We will first take time to understand your child’s needs and discuss all appropriate options together.
What if my child won’t talk during the appointment?
That’s okay. Many children take time to feel comfortable. I adjust my approach based on the child and never force participation.
Do parents stay in the appointment?
This depends on the service and situation. Typically, I only offer individual therapy appointments. For medication management both parent and child involvement, with some time set aside individually when appropriate.
What if we’re not sure what’s going on?
You don’t need to have everything figured out. That’s exactly what this process is for.
What if medication doesn’t work or causes side effects?
We monitor closely and make adjustments as needed. Treatment is always a collaborative and flexible process.

Start with a Prescreening Form
Start with a Prescreening Form
To ensure thoughtful, individualized care, all new patients begin by completing a brief, secure prescreening form through the patient portal.

This allows me to understand your needs and determine whether my practice is the right fit. If appropriate, you will be guided through the next steps for scheduling. Please note: Submitting a prescreening form does not guarantee an appointment.
Secure Spruce Messaging
All new and ongoing contact goes through secure Spruce messaging. Kindly set up a Spruce account to enable a secure and smooth partnership with me (no cost). For patients previously established with me at Summerwood Pediatrics who wish to continue care, please use my transferring patients spruce link. New patients should use the prescreening form or specific spruce link for self-referrals, while established patients have their own spruce link for communication. For general inquiries about fit or care, please use my general Spruce link.

Step 4: Visit
During our initial psychiatric assessment, we will sit down to discuss your history and goals. This is a collaborative space where we begin building your path forward together.
Step 2: Pay Deposit
After you reach out, I will review your message to better understand your concerns and determine if my practice is a good fit. If appropriate, you will receive a $50 deposit payment link through Stripe. Once the deposit is received, I will schedule your appointment based on your needs and availability.
Step 3: Complete Intake Forms
You will receive access to the SimplePractice portal to complete intake forms, questionnaires, and required policies. These must be completed prior to your appointment so I have adequate time to review your information and prepare for our visit.
Consistency
After our initial evaluation, we will establish a follow up visit plan to ensure your clinical needs and goals are being met.
Step 5: Follow-Up
Long term success is built on steady support. I will be with you every step of the way, providing medication management and/or therapy sessions.
Private Pay & Personalized Wellness
I prioritize personalized attention through a private pay model. This ensures clinical independence and sessions tailored to your family's needs without external constraints. While I do not bill insurers directly, many families successfully utilize HSA or FSA accounts to cover the cost of psychiatric services.
Crisis & Immediate Needs
As a solo outpatient practitioner, I provide scheduled appointments and do not offer twenty four hour emergency response. If you are facing an active crisis, please pursue immediate professional help through emergency services.
Emergency Support
If there is an immediate safety concern, reach out to 911 or the 988 lifeline, or go to the nearest emergency department or urgent care facility right away.
Need Urgent Assistance?
Please review my dedicated Crisis & Urgent Support page for an extensive registry of local mental health resources and specialized hotlines.
